Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is this going to cost me?
A. You never have to pay anything out of your pocket. All costs, expenses and attorney fees come out of the settlement money and only the settlement money. You will never be billed for anything we do and you will never be billed for any costs or attorney fees.

Q. My family member has already died of an asbestos disease.  We think he may have been exposed to asbestos. Are the family members entitled to compensation?
A. YES. Surviving family members can be entitled to numerous significant cash settlements even if the victim died with no asbestos claim on file or was never tested for asbestos. Please contact us.

Q. Is it true that someone may develop a disease from asbestos many years after they breathed it?
A. YES.  Certain type of asbestos-related diseases, such as a serious form of cancer known as mesothelioma, may not occur until 40 or 50 years or longer after exposure to asbestos.

Q. I have heard that smokers who are sick because of asbestos will not receive compensation.  Is that true?
A. NO.  People who are sick because of asbestos qualify to receive compensation regardless of whether they have ever smoked, or whether they smoke now.

Q. I have heard it often takes years for asbestos settlements to be made. Is that true?
A. We work closely with our clients to settle cases as quickly as possible.  It is difficult to say how long or how short an individual case may last, but we often settle with numerous defendants in asbestos-related cases in less than one year.

Q. My father died of a type of cancer that was in his lungs.  The doctors called it mesothelioma.  Is it really worth our family going to the trouble to seek a settlement?
A. YES. Victims of mesothelioma or their surviving family members should know that they stand to receive a large cash settlement.

A. YES.  Unfortunately, when asbestos was present in work places in the 1940s, through the 1980s, homemakers and other household members were often exposed to asbestos when they washed workman’s clothes.
